Have you found your dream home? It’s time to take the next big step and move in! Moving home can be frantic but with the right ‘home move’ checklist to hand, moving can be a breeze.
Just follow our home moving checklist and you’re all set!
Confirm your move date
First, set the date of your move. Choose a time when your schedule is less hectic and apply leave from the office.
Get quotes from Movers
Not all movers charge the same price! Be sure to call a few movers to compare prices and the services they offer. Choose one that fits your budget.
Inform your Landlord and Neighbours
If you’re renting, you’ll have to give notice to your landlord and also inform him and your neighbours of your new address, so they can forward mail and keep in touch!
Inform your Utility Suppliers
If you subscribe to TV package or home wireless broadband, inform them of the change of address. Also, check to see if they cover the new area you’re heading to!
What stays and what GOES?
Don’t move the stuff you no longer use or need into your new home. Chances are they’ll end up turning into clutter. Donate them, sell them online or take them to a local boot fair and earn some extra cash!
Pack and list which items goes where in your new home
The key to ensuring a smooth move is to know where everything is! Be sure to label your boxes so you know which boxes go where in your new home. This will make unpacking easy.
Move important essentials first
You’ll need the essentials for your first night at your new place. If you have a lot of things, and need to split moving into a couple of days, choose to move essentials like bedding and kitchenware first.

Once you’re done with moving, it’s time to make your new place feel like home by unpacking and arranging your furniture the way you like it!
